HOW PROTECT TOPOLOGY OF INTEGRATED MICROCIRCUITS?

According to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On legal protection of topographies of integrated microcircuits", put into force on May 12, 2001, the topology of integrated microcircuit is the spatially-geometrical arrangement of set of elements of integrated microcircuit fixed on the material carrier and communications between them.
Object of legal protection of topology of integrated microcircuits (TIM) is the original topology of integrated microcircuit registered when due hereunder.
          The given legal protection does not extend on ideas, methods, systems, technology or the coded information which can be embody in topology.
          For reception of legal protection in Patent Office the application for registration the TIM files. Filing of application can be carried out in time, not exceeding two years from the date of first use of topology if it took place.
          On the basis of results of state examination Patent Office within a month from the date of reception of the document on payment of patent fee makes registration of topology. Data on registration are published in the official bulletin "Rasmiy Akhborotnoma". After three months after the publication the certificate on registration of the topology, the legal owner certifying the exclusive right to its use stands out.
          The Exclusive right to use the TIM operates within ten years, under condition of payment of patent fees.
