LEGAL PROTECTION OF COMPUTER PROGRAMS AND DATABASES

The computer programs and databases are protected by the copyright. The copyright extends on any computer programs and databases growing out creative activity and expressed in the objective form, irrespective of their purpose and advantage.
Official registration of the computer program or database is possible by their authors or legal owners in the State register of software products or the State register of databases by application in the State Patent Office.
Patent Office checks presence of necessary documents and their conformity to requirements of Rules. At positive result of check Patent Office brings the computer program or database in the corresponding Register, grants out to the applicant the certificate on official registration and publishes data on the registered computer programs and databases in the official bulletin of the Patent Office.
