Meeting with the professor from Japan
On November 26, 2009 the meeting with Professor Kumagai Hiroshi, which is invited by the Tashkent State Economic University from Japan and teaches on faculty «World economy and international economic relations» took place in Patent Office. During the meeting questions of cooperation of Patent Office with high schools of republic have been discussed.
WIPO national seminar on the role of patents and patent information in the development of innovative activities
     On November 4 and 5, 2009 in Tashkent organized WIPO national seminar on the role of patents and patent information in the development of innovative activities in cooperation with the State Patent Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
     Tasks and to the purpose of seminar have been devoted to questions of importance of a role of patents and patent information at creation and removing on the market of new methods and technologies, and also to acceptance of strategic and operative decisions on a legal protection and commercialization of intellectual property objects for increase of profitableness of business, strategic development of the companies and management of innovations.
     At seminar representatives of the Ministry of the higher and specialized secondary education, Committee on coordination of development of science and technologies at the Cabinet of Ministries of the Republic of Uzbekistan, State customs committee, Uzbek Republican Copyrights Agency, and etc have participated.

Seminar in Samarkand
On September 18, 2009 at the Samarkand State University experts of the Patent Office organized seminar on a theme “Legal protection of intellectual property objects”. In the work of seminar are participated the faculty and students.
At the seminar the questions, concerning legislation in the field of IP protection, granting of legal protection to IP objects and deepening of knowledge in the given area were discussed.
From September 17 to 19, 2009 at the Andijan State University, Namangan State University and Fergana State University experts of the Patent Office organized seminars on a theme "Legal protection of intellectual property objects». In work of seminar are participated professors, senior lecturers, post-graduate students and others.
     At seminar questions of granting of legal protection to IP objects and ways of perfection of the legislation in the field of protection of the legal protection to IP objects were discussed.
     During action the presentation of magazine «Management of intellectual property», Electronic collection «Normative-legal acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the international acts on a legal protection to IP objects» is lead.

XVIII session of Interstate council on industrial property protection and the Joint working commission of the states-members of the Agreement about cooperation on suppression of offences in the field of intellectual property
On September 9 and 10, 2009 the representative of Patent Office has participated in work of XVIII (joint) session of Interstate council on industrial property protection and the Joint working commission of the states-members of the Agreement about cooperation on suppression of offences in the field of intellectual property in Agverane city of the Republic of Armenia.
Anniversary number of the official bulletin «Rasmiy ahborotnoma»
100th number of the official bulletin «Rasmiy ahborotnoma» - the basic edition of the State Patent Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan was published. On its pages data on 28 inventions, 4 utility models, 9 industrial designs, 125 trademarks, 15 computer programs, one database, three applications filed on granting of the patent of the Republic of Uzbekistan on plant varieties, three applications for the name of selection achievements for plant varieties, two license contracts on the trademarks, one license contract on the computer program and eight contracts about cession of rights on trademarks are published.
On June 5, 2009 Mr. Bilal Suruju, Adviser of Embassy of Turkey on Trade visited SPO.
The purpose of visit - acquaintance with activity of SPO, patent system of the Republic of Uzbekistan for establishment of closer contacts, and also discussion of prospects of the further cooperation.

WIPO International symposium «Intellectual property and traditional knowledge»
On May 12-14, 2009 the representative of SPO participated in WIPO International symposium «Intellectual property and traditional knowledge» which took place in Nakhichevan, Republic Azerbaijan. In symposium questions concerning expansion and perfection of sphere of protection of IP objects, namely, such as traditional knowledge, genetic resources and folklore were considered.
International scientifically-practical conference «Actual problems of development of the digital signature and electronic document circulation»
On May 12-14, 2009 representatives of SPO have participated at the International scientifically-practical conference «Actual problems of development of the digital signature and electronic document circulation» and an exhibition of software products «BestSoft Uzbekistan 2009».
Organizers of conference: Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbek Agency of communication and information and Federal Agency of Information Technologies of the Russian Federation.

     On May 12, 2009 session of college took place in SPO, where following questions have been considered:
     1. Results of work of SPO for 1 quarter 2009 and tasks in the further perfection of activity for 2 quarter of the current year, following from decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers from 15.04.2009 on results of social and economic development of republic for 1 quarter 2009
     2. Prospects of the international cooperation of SPO in the field of intellectual property protection.
     3. Status of automation system of internal patent office-work on the basis of program LanDocs and its integration with Intranet-portal of SPO.
     4. About course of authorized obligations Publishing House "Patent-Press".
     5. About condition of performing discipline on performance of laws, decrees, decisions and orders of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the governmental decisions as of May 1, 2009

Scientifically-practical conference “Intellectual property under protection of law”
      In connection with celebrating of the International intellectual property day the Scientifically-practical conference “Intellectual property under protection of law” on April 24 is lead. Organizers of conference: Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Sport of Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, State Patent Office, University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
      In work of conference the questions, concerning legislations in the field of protection of the rights to intellectual property and problems of its perfection, urgency of scientific research of intellectual property rights and value of its teaching in higher educational institutions, and also the importance of intellectual property in a daily life were discussed.
      During conference the Memorandum of cooperation between the State Patent Office and University of World Economy and Diplomacy has been signed.

       In connection with creation of additional procedure of the international search are made changes to РСТ Manual concerning functions of the International searching authority and International preliminary examination authority.
       Since January 1, 2009 changes, brought in the Agreement with WIPO International Bureau about performance by ROSPATENT of functions of the International searching authority and International preliminary examination authority according to the РСТ which carrying out by ROSPATENT of additional international search.

Session of Committee of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan
On January 16, 2009 direction of SPO has taken part in session of Committee of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan concerning science, education, culture and sports. At session questions of provision by under-law normative-legal acts of reference rules have been considered, in particular of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan «On inventions, utility models and industrial designs». On results of session the reference rules of the specified law are recognized as a whole provided, and results of work of the SPO in this direction - positive.

Lecture on a theme “Protection of intellectual property”
On December 23, 2008 the representative of SPO has read through lecture on a theme “Protection of intellectual property” on courses “Commercialization of results of research and design development” of the Academy of the State and Public Construction at the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In performance of the Regulation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 29.02.2008 No 805 the SPO transferred 5 computers Vectra HP into Gurlen regional center of children's and youth creativity of the Khorezm region and one computer is transferred to the invalid since the childhood, schoolgirl of 4-class of school №31 of the Khorezm region, Akhmedova Nilufar.
Presentation of production of Center on preparation and support of young programmers and “UZINFOCOM”
The representative of SPO on December 16, 2008 has participated on the presentation, devoted to questions of creation, formation and escalating of the information resources, organized by the Center on preparation and support of young programmers in cooperation with the Center of development and introduction of computer and information technologies “UZINFOCOM” under the initiative of Republican information centre-library and support of the Uzbek agency of communication and information and the Scientific and technical society of radio engineering, electronics and communication.

On December 5, 2008 in the Cinema House the SPO in cooperation with National Agency "Uzbekkino", Film Studio of popular scientific and documentary films of the Republic of Uzbekistan have lead presentation of film "Creative youth of Uzbekistan".
Under Regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers from November 26, 2008 Mr. Bakhtiyor Amonov has appointed as Director of the State Patent Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On November 24th, 2008 experts of SPO have read through lectures on a theme «Legislation on protection of the industrial property and role of the patent organizations in legal protection IPO» in Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
   Diploma and the monetary premium is handed over to the winner of the Republican annual competition of students of high schools for the yearly essay, degree and research work in the field of intellectual property for 2007-2008
        In a nomination – «Best creative work in the field of the practical decision of problems of intellectual property» awarded 1 place with the Diploma of 1st degree and the monetary premium at a rate of 150 thousand sum to Ms. Jugaj E.A., master of 1 course of the Tashkent State Juridical Institute for research work «Trademark and establishment of its similarity to the declared designations».

        On November 18th in SPO the meeting with delegation of the KIPO took place. At a meeting the presentation of following programs has been lead: KIPONet - portal of national office, PCT Road – processing of the international applications on PCT procedure, and programs of electronic training - IP Panorama.

Round table on theme «Prospects and development of intellectual property in Uzbekistan»
On November 1st of current year in Republican Business School at the State Property Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been organized a round table on a theme «Prospects and development of intellectual property in Uzbekistan» with participation of the expert from St.-Petersburg Elena Savikovskaja - the skilled appraiser of IP objects, and patent attorney of Russian Federation.
During E.V.Savikovskaja's visit she has visited SPO where the exchange of opinions concerning protection of IP objects took place.
VII International Scientifically-Practical Conference devoted to economic questions of intellectual property in Kishinev
        On November 27-28, 2008 in Kishinev VII International Scientifically-Practical Conference devoted to economic questions of intellectual property is spent.
        Organizers of the International conference are: Eurasian Patent Office, State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic Moldova, and Agency on Innovations and Transfer of technologies of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
        In this year the International conference passed under the motto «Innovations in support of the small and average enterprises».
        Participants of conference listened reports on subjects of conference of leading experts of the countries-participants EAPO, representatives of scientific institutes, higher educational institutions, ministries and departments of the Republic Moldova, and also the small and average enterprises.
