II Republican fair of innovative ideas, technologies and projects
     According to the Provision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 15.07.2008 No-916 «About additional measures on stimulation of introduction of innovative projects and technologies in manufacture» in Uzbekistan is annually spent Republican fair of innovative ideas, technologies and projects.
     Within the limits of the above-stated fair and in connection with celebrating of the International intellectual property day on April, 28th, in Uzexpocenter is lead Scientifically-practical seminar «Protection of intellectual property objects»
     Organizers of seminar: State Patent Office, UNDP and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan
     In work of seminar the questions, concerning legislations in the field of protection of the intellectual property rights, international law in the field of innovations in the CIS countries and modern lines of its development, experience and prospects of promotion on the market of results of research development, problems of creation of competitive production on the basis of inventions were discussed.

WIPO Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP): Third Session
     From April 27 to May 1, 2009 the representative of SPO has participated in work of third session of WIPO Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP).
     111 states-members and 48 observers have taken part in work of session.

Scientifically-practical conference “Intellectual property under protection of law”
      In connection with celebrating of the International intellectual property day the Scientifically-practical conference “Intellectual property under protection of law” on April 24 is lead. Organizers of conference: Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Sport of Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, State Patent Office, University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
      In work of conference the questions, concerning legislations in the field of protection of the rights to intellectual property and problems of its perfection, urgency of scientific research of intellectual property rights and value of its teaching in higher educational institutions, and also the importance of intellectual property in a daily life were discussed.
      During conference the Memorandum of cooperation between the State Patent Office and University of World Economy and Diplomacy has been signed.

      On April 21-23 in National exhibition hall «Uzexpocenter» of Tashkent there has passed the International exhibition «Public health services-TIHE 2009» which included four specialized medical exhibitions: «Public health services - TIHE», «Pharmaceutical industry - Apteka Expo», «Beauty and aesthetic medicine - Beauty Uzbekistan» and «Stomatology - Stomatology Uzbekistan».

      On March 31 in Legislative Chamber of Oliy Mazhlis by Fraction of Social-Democratic Party "ADOLAT" held a scientifically-practical seminar «Introduction of innovations in practice of agriculture - the important factor of stable development of village». At seminar the representative of SPO has acted with the report on a theme «Condition of legal protection of intellectual property objects in the field of agriculture».

      On March 27 at session of Committee concerning information and communication technologies of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Mazhlis the question of execution in the SPO of laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan «About legal protection of computer programs and databases» and «About legal protection of topology of integrated microcircuits» has been considered.

      On March 18, 2009 at the Tashkent State Technical University is held practical seminar on a theme «Order of registration of reception of the license for the invention, utility model, trademark and industrial design».

      On March 18, 2009 the scientifically-practical seminar devoted to innovative projects and ideas and participation at the II Republican Fair of innovative projects and ideas took place in the Uzbek Agency of Communication and Information. Experts of the joint-stock companies, the enterprises and organizations of sphere of communication and information have taken part in work of seminar.

Technologies of creation and use of the scientific and technical information in network of electronic libraries
      On March 18-19, 2009 employees of the State Fund of the Patent Documentation and Department of information technologies have taken part in seminar and presentation «Technologies of creation and use of the scientific and technical information in the network of electronic libraries». Organizers of seminar are – Tashkent University of Information Technologies, National Library of Uzbekistan named after A. Navoiy, Company "KARMAT-PLUS", World Bank, and Samarkand State University.

Working meeting
      On February 11, 2009 in SPO the working meeting with representatives of Committee on information and communication technologies of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place. The purpose of meeting is studying of execution of laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan «On legal protection of computer programs and databases» and «On legal protection of topology of integrated microcircuits».

Training on theme "Patent law"
      On February 10, 2009 in SPO training on a theme "Patent law" for listeners of faculty of International attitudes and external economic relations of the Academy of the state and public construction at the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan are lead.

In SPO the session of Scientific and Technical Council took place
      On January 30, 2009 in SPO the next session of Scientific and Technical Council took place. On the agenda following questions have been considered:
      1. Results of work of Scientific and Technical Council for 2008
      2. Problems of the SPO at the present stage.
      3. A role of the Board of Appeal in the pre-judicial settlement of disputes, the objects of intellectual property connected with legal protection.
      4. Presentation of the report «Legal protection of utility models: problems and ways of their overcoming».

Changes in PCT Manual
       In connection with creation of additional procedure of the international search are made changes to РСТ Manual concerning functions of the International searching authority and International preliminary examination authority.
       Since January 1, 2009 changes, brought in the Agreement with WIPO International Bureau about performance by ROSPATENT of functions of the International searching authority and International preliminary examination authority according to the РСТ which carrying out by ROSPATENT of additional international search.

Session of Committee of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan
       On January 16, 2009 direction of SPO has taken part in session of Committee of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan concerning science, education, culture and sports. At session questions of provision by under-law normative-legal acts of reference rules have been considered, in particular of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan «On inventions, utility models and industrial designs». On results of session the reference rules of the specified law are recognized as a whole provided, and results of work of the SPO in this direction - positive.

Session of the Committee concerning the budget and economic reforms of the Senate of Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan
       On December 24, 2008 the representative of SPO has taken part at session of Committee concerning the budget and economic reforms of the Senate of Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, devoted to results of studying of performance by the State Committee on demonopolization, competition and support of business of the Law «About restriction of exclusive activity in the commodity market and competition».

Lecture on a theme “Protection of intellectual property”
       On December 23, 2008 the representative of SPO has read through lecture on a theme “Protection of intellectual property” on courses “Commercialization of results of research and design development” of the Academy of the State and Public Construction at the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
       In performance of the Regulation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 29.02.2008 No 805 the SPO transferred 5 computers Vectra HP into Gurlen regional center of children's and youth creativity of the Khorezm region and one computer is transferred to the invalid since the childhood, schoolgirl of 4-class of school №31 of the Khorezm region, Akhmedova Nilufar.

Presentation of production of Center on preparation and support of young programmers and “UZINFOCOM”
       The representative of SPO on December 16, 2008 has participated on the presentation, devoted to questions of creation, formation and escalating of the information resources, organized by the Center on preparation and support of young programmers in cooperation with the Center of development and introduction of computer and information technologies “UZINFOCOM” under the initiative of Republican information centre-library and support of the Uzbek agency of communication and information and the Scientific and technical society of radio engineering, electronics and communication.

Extraordinary assembly of the WIPO states-members (Geneva, Switzerland)
       On December 12, 2008 the representative of SPO has participated on extraordinary assembly of the WIPO states-members (Geneva, Switzerland). On assembly the questions concerning the financial report of WIPO for 2006-2007, and Programs and Budget for 2008-2009 have been considered
       In performance of the Regulation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 29.02.2008 No 805, in connection with acquisition of train with humanitarian cargo of health «ECOSAN» for children Aral SPO transferred to the International Organization on Ecology and Health «ECOSAN» 7 computers Vectra HP.

Presentation of film "Creative youth of Uzbekistan"
       On December 5, 2008 in the Cinema House the SPO in cooperation with National Agency "Uzbekkino", Film Studio of popular scientific and documentary films of the Republic of Uzbekistan have lead presentation of film "Creative youth of Uzbekistan".
