Board session
     On December 10, 2010 in the State Patent Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan the expanded session of the Board has taken place, on which following questions are considered:
     - The directions specified in the report of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of I.A. Karimov «Concept of the further deepening of democratic reforms and formation of a civil society in the country», made at joint session of Legislative Chamber and Senate of the Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on November 12, 2010 and maintenance of execution of priority problems of the Patent Office following from it.
     - Studying of course of execution of the Decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 209 from June 14, 2002 «About organization of activity of the State Patent Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan».
     And also the information is heard: «About a course of performing discipline in Patent the Office» as of December 1, 2010; about creation of the Unitary Enterprise «Patent Expert» and about a course of works on automation of patent office-work of the State Patent Office.

On November 30 - December 1, 2010 the representative of the State Patent Office has taken part in work of Inter-regional symposium on access problems to the patent information and strategy of its use with a view of advancement of innovations, organized by Federal Agency on Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks (Rospatent) in cooperation with the WIPO.

On December 3, 2010 the representative of the State Patent Office has taken part in expanded session of Committee on Information and Communication Technologies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Mazhlis, devoted to execution of the Laws «About guarantees and access freedom to the information», «About principles and guarantees of freedom of the information» by state bodies and local administrations by results of control-analytical order. Also questions on a role of official sites of state structures in the Internet, formation and development of the state information resources and systems have been considered.

WIPO Launches Global On-line Resource to Facilitate Access to IP Information
     WIPO launched on June 1, 2010, WIPO GOLD, a free, on-line global intellectual property (IP) reference resource that provides quick and easy access to a broad collection of searchable IP data and tools relating to, for example, technology, brands, designs, statistics, WIPO standards, IP classification systems and IP laws and treaties.
     “The launch of WIPO GOLD is a significant step towards fulfilling one of the Organization’s strategic goals – that of serving as a world reference source for IP information and analysis,” said Director General Francis Gurry. “The WIPO GOLD portal is a rich, dynamic and evolving information tool that will continue to be expanded and improved over time,” he added.
